Day
13 dawned gray and rainy; but dark skies and rain couldn’t hold back the
sunshine at the Adventure Caravan Pancake Breakfast! What a feast!
Blueberry and regular pancakes, maple and strawberry syrup, ham and
sausage. Thanks to the great cooks Larry
& Ada, Hex & Sandy and Spence & Madi! What a super way to begin a travel day!!
Everyone left at their leisure and
began the looooong trip of 52 miles down the coast to Crescent City, Ca. We saw Tom and Catherine looking for the
hookups under their car – guess they found them!
The coastline is rugged and rocky
and with the rainy weather, the surf looked like boiling water headed to the
shoreline. When we turned a little
inland, the scenery was more low hills and tree covered. At one point we crossed the tallest bridge in
Oregon.
Yay!
California! After crossing into
California we came up on a bridge that gave cyclists the right-of-way. Naturally, there were two bikes crossing
ahead of us!
Driving
along the highway between all the pines was like being in a long tree-lined
tunnel.
