Finally, our traveling day has arrived. Most of us have been in Tillamook for four to
five days. It has been enjoyable and
interesting. However, caravaners can sit
still for only so long when new adventures beckon.
Not too far from Tillamook, we crossed West Beaver
Creek. We then passed Beaver Mercantile
and then Beaver Creek. We never spotted
even one beaver. Then we looked in the
mirror and saw two of them. HA! HA!
The drive on Oregon 22 was narrow and curvy but very scenic
and fun to travel on. We left our RV’s
and switched to our tow vehicles about half way. We then ventured on to the Evergreen Aviation
Museum. Everyone arrived safely at the
museum and was anxious to take in the exhibits.
Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum is very well done and is
a must see. The number one attraction is
Howard Hughes “Spruce Goose.” This is
one of the largest planes in the world and the frame structure is made of
wood.
There were many other unusual airplanes and related items of interest.
After our museum tour we took Oregon 18 back to our RV’s. We re-hitched and had a nice drive west to Hwy 101. We then drove south along the Pacific Coast to our destination in Newport, Oregon. Everyone arrived safe and without any problems.

We had a very nice introduction to Newport talk by our Camp Host, who truly seemed to love the area.
Some of us went out for dinner at the Rogue Brewery
Restaurant and helped support the local economy.
It is now about bed time and we are reflecting back on a
wonderful day shared with really swell traveling companions.
God Bless the U.S.A.!
