West Coast America - 2013: Day 6 - Travel Day to Florence, OR

We started out from Newport this morning in search of the MIST, and found it immediately. It attached itself to us and this continued all the way to Florence. After hanging around for several hours the mist got tired and left for a while but came back later. Pictures are attached for those who may have missed this event.

Winston Jr. is our traveling companion (turtle) that we got when we went to see Terry Fader the one who won America’s Got Talent several years ago.

Winston Jr. was afraid the MIST was going to keep us from getting to Pacific Pines RV Park. We made it safely and are looking forward to a great time in Florence.

He did nearly have a heart attack when we went through the tunnel.

The bike riders we encountered must be avid riders to be out in all types of weather. We were told that these riders believe they own the road and are out to show all other drivers that they do in fact own it.

We were pleased to find out that Fred Meyer will take Kroger discount cards. This resulted in a .20 cent discount per gallon of gas.

We drove through Old town and across the FANTASTIC bridge. There are lots of shops and places to eat, not to mention the candy shops (salt water taffy).
