Day 27 - Columbia/Gold Country, CA

Our adventure started by getting lined up for our rideshare.

We arrived at Railtown, where we were greeted with a beautiful display of fall colors.

There were many pictures of the good old days of the steam train days.

We sat in the antique railroad terminal furniture.

Our guide was knowledgeable and gave a good presentation.

There were all sizes of steam engines in the roundhouse

There was one rare gear drive engine.

The Engineer looked like he was just a part of the engine.

All kinds of small shop made cars

This was the location for the show, “Petticoat Junction.”

We then boarded the train for our trip through history.

We took a drive on the country roads.  This area is in a drought, as the lake shows, it is about 50 ft. low.

Along the way we visited Mark Twain’s cabin.
