Day 37 - Travel Day from Morro Bay to Buellton, CA

My first picture is leaving Morro Dunes RV Park and Morro Bay Rock behind. Not much for dunes in my opinion.

The California Coast includes lots of rocks just off shore, much like Oregon. I was watching for more dunes near Pismo Beach but never did see any. I was expecting to see big hills like at Honeyman in Oregon. (But we didn’t stop to try to find them either.)

Lots of grapes again along the way. The non-irrigated land sure looks barren.

Buellton’s Avenue of the Flags includes a really nice set of statues of kids saluting the flag.

We had lunch at Split Pea Andersen’s, first of four restaurants, started in 1924. Two have since closed but Buellton and Santa Nella seem to be running just fine. If you go there for split pea soup, be sure to order a side of “toppings”.

Most of us drove over to the Chumash Casino for a buffet dinner together. Nice end to a nice day.
